In 2000 a number of Victorian Utility companies
commissioned Geoff Nunn & Associates to undertake a national survey of
remuneration in the sector. Since that time the survey has been produced
annually and has grown to cover 65 organisations across Australia and
over 200 positions. It is the most comprehensive
survey of remuneration in the Utilities Sector in Australia. In
2009 the survey has been renamed "Market Remuneration in the Power, Water
and Utilities Sectors to reflect the broad base of participants.
The National Remuneration Centre (NRC) has been actively involved since 2000 and processes the survey data. The highly
regarded NRC survey methodology is employed.
The survey measures remuneration levels for a comprehensive range of jobs in the sector. It provides an in-depth analysis. Data is collected nationally and the results presented on a position match and a job evaluated basis. Where appropriate, additional data is sourced from the National Remuneration Centre.
The survey provides an analysis of Fixed Annual
Remuneration, Short Term Incentives (Targets and Ceilings) for the top ten
executive roles.

The Job Evaluated Approach
The job evaluated approach requires the allocation of a points score to each survey position from each participating organisation. Data is analysed and regression equations prepared.
